5G Networks and Cybersecurity

Course overview

The objective of this course is to introduce the student to 5G mobile networks through the review of 5G network architecture, its characteristics, implementation in virtualized environments, and cybersecurity aspects.

The course will include both theoretical and practical components, allowing the student to deploy a 5G Core execution environment upon which they will develop exercises based on cryptocurrency attacks. The practical exercises will assess the use of Machine Learning mechanisms for training AI algorithms, which will subsequently enable the detection of attack patterns.

The course is designed for students and professionals interested in understanding the nuances of 5G networks, exploring their security aspects, and gaining practical experience in deploying infrastructure while interacting with them through the development of cyberattacks.

  • Requirements: IMT-2020 (5G) and IMT-2030 (6G)
  • Cybersecurity in 5G
