The Future Networks Academy exhibition was designed as an interactive outreach tool to introduce diverse audiences to the opportunities and challenges of 5G and future networks. Combining roll-up panels, demonstrators, and hands-on activities, it provided accessible explanations of complex technologies while fostering dialogue between researchers, students, and the wider public.

The Future Networks Academy is committed to pioneering comprehensive training initiatives that cater to a diverse audience, including students, researchers, educators, businesses, policymakers, and the general public.

As part of our efforts, we have designed a versatile toolkit intended to serve as a supplementary resource for fellow educators and trainers. This toolkit is crafted to support them in developing and implementing their own training programs that resonate with the ever-changing needs of this vibrant sector.

Our primary goal is to enable educators to motivate and prepare future network professionals, equipping them with the competencies needed to thrive in this fast-paced industry. Through this endeavor, FNA aspires to foster a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and proficiency within the field, contributing to its growth and development.

This report presents a consolidated analysis of the survey, initiated by the FNA Consortium, as a part of a collaborative and in-depth effort to precisely understand their expectations and training needs in the field of future networks, focusing on the demographic evaluation of respondents, their satisfaction levels with the survey, their preferences for the content, format and assessment formats of learning modules, and other relevant insights.

As we move into the era of 5G and look ahead to 6G, big changes are coming to the way we use technology. The FNA project has taken a close look at the training programs available in Europe for these new technologies. Our goal is to find out what kind of training is already out there and to spot any missing pieces in the education of people who work or will work in telecommunications. We aim to figure out how the FNA project can help fill in these gaps in order to contribute to the comprehensive and learner-centered education in this field.

We benchmarked the training programs in six European countries (Germany, France, Finland, Spain, Luxembourg and the Netherlands) because we believe that these countries are leading the way in the field of future networks technology and education, which gave us a representative picture of the current situation across Europe.

How to enhance AI and Robotics with 5G? How can 5G help universities and industries collaborate for better connectivity and efficiency? How can students and academics take advantage of these developments? And most importantly, how can all this innovation be made accessible to the general public?
